DAC Color Code System and Phases of Reopening Plan

It is important for us to communicate with you our plans in accordance with all state and local orders, including how the color coding system relates to how we will deliver programming. Typically the DAC has followed the Marion County School system in terms of inclement weather closings. The COVID-19 pandemic presents us with many challenges and many different guidelines and rules to follow. We have developed our color code system that is similar to the West Virginia Department of Education criteria, but may not be exact, as the school system and Marion County Schools specifically fall under a different umbrella than businesses, organizations, community centers etc. like the DAC. This color code chart was emailed to the membership and is available at the DAC.

Please know that we are following all CDC guidelines and those of our State DHHR and local health department. Please note that these plans are fluid and evolving daily as we follow the direction of our state and local officials.

DAC Bowling League 2021-Postponed
The DAC Bowling League will not begin in January 2021 as in year’s past. We are committed to having the 8 week league when it is safe for all involved and we can gather in larger groups. This may mean later in the Spring or Summer.
Please stay tuned for updates and reach out to us should you have any questions.

DAC Biggest Loser
Back by popular demand-Mondays at 2 p.m. (Virtual Class)
Weigh Ins each Monday anytime.

The DAC’s Biggest Loser Challenge 2021 is an 8 week program that will consist of weekly weigh-ins, informative classes, and independent nutrition and exercise goals.  All program results will be kept confidential. The program is meant to be fun and educational and is not intended to replace medical guidelines and physician’s recommendations.
Teams will consist of two individuals.

Weigh-Ins:

  • Weigh‐ins will take place at the DAC each Monday, any time during business hours 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 pm.
  • This is a two-person team program. Please grab a friend to encourage and support you during the program.
  • The initial, baseline weigh‐in will be Monday, January 4, 2021 from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • For consistency, it is recommended (but not required) that the weigh‐in take place at the same time of day throughout the contest.
  • Weigh‐ins will be tracking the percent of body weight lost. The calculation is made taking your actual weight (today) and subtracting it from your initial weight. The result is then divided by your initial (starting) weight. Percentages will be tracked to 1/100 of a percent.
  • Prizes and Incentives:

Prizes and Incentives will be given in the following categories (Examples):

  1. Team with the highest percentage weight loss.
  2. Individual with the highest percentage weight loss.
  3. Individual with the highest total weight loss.

Other Information:
It is encouraged that you consult with your doctor before beginning any exercise/weight loss program.
Informative Classes and videos will be shared on Facebook instead of the in person class that was held in year’s past. Worksheets, recipes, and materials will be available for participants to follow along with.  Full Contest Rules and Guidelines will be distributed at the January 4th Kick-Off.
