New Policy Updates:
The DAC will be implementing a NEW Level of Support Policy (LOS) and updated Code of Conduct effective January 1, 2020. The Level of Support Policy will outline required support for all clients attending programs of the DAC including Children, Adolescents, Adults over the age of 18, IDD Waiver participants, and IDD Waiver wait list participants.
The Code of Conduct will also outline expected behavior for all clients while attending programs of the DAC.
DAC Director, Julie Sole, has attempted to reach out to many clients/families that could be affected by the policy changes and will continue to respond to any concerns and to answer any questions regarding the policies.
A Special Lunch and Learn will be held on Tuesday, December 10^th that will cover the new LOS policy and Code of Conduct. We will answer any questions again at that time with the expectation that all clients/families will have a new membership, Level of Support Policy, and Code of Conduct in place by January 1, 2020.

More Grace Outreach (MGO) Outreach Dinner-
November 3, 2019   5:30 p.m.
The DAC is pleased to partner once again with More Grace Outreach and other community organizations to address food insecurity in our community. More Grace Outreach is have their annual dinner on November 3^rd at Trinity Assembly of God Church and the DAC has sponsored a table for 8.

We encourage DAC clients and families to attend this event, FREE of CHARGE, enjoy a wonderful meal and program, and learn more about this partnership.
Please RSVP to the DAC and let us know if you would like to attend. 

Christmas Choir
We are having a Christmas Choir to perform at our Christmas Dinner on December 7th, 2019. Bev Slagle will lead the Choir efforts and practice will be held each Monday from 2-3 p.m. starting on November 4^th (with the exception of Veterans Day). If you are interested in being in the Choir, please call the center and sign up by October 28th. There is a sign-up sheet at the front desk of the DAC. 

Sub Sale…..November 14 and 15, 2019
Please visit our website or stop in for your Sub Sale order form. You can start taking sub orders at any time and they will be made fresh for delivery or pick up on November 14^th or November 15^th Volunteers are also needed on November 14th and 15th to prepare for the sale, make the subs, deliver the subs, and help out in any way!
Most of all we need to SELL THOSE SUBS!

Friday Night Out-Fall Hoedown
November 8, 2019
Our Friday Night Out will be held on November 8, 2019 from 6-8 pm. We have a great fall themed meal planned, line dancing, and will celebrate our birthdays for November.
Special Olympics of Marion County will be sponsoring the November Friday Night Out!

Christmas Decorating and Hanging of the Greens
November 25th, 2019     12-2 p.m.
Our Annual Christmas Decorating and Hanging of the Greens at the Center will take place Monday, November 25, 2019 at the Center. Please stay after for Chirstmas Choir practice at 2 p.m. All DAC members and volunteers are encouraged to attend and ring in the Holiday Spirit by decorating our many trees, hanging lights and garland, and adding your special touches to our center.
This is YOUR center and we want you to be a part of making it shine during the Holidays and all year through!  Refreshments will be provided at 11:30!

School Closing Schedule
Winter is fast approaching and we are sure to get some wild wonderful WV weather! We will be following the Marion County School Closing Schedule. If school is cancelled then our classes/programs will be as well. If there is a 2 hour delay, we will have classes/programs as scheduled. If there is an early dismissal, our classes/programs will be cancelled, inlcuding After-School Full STEM Ahead Programs with Miss Ann.

GO! (Get Outdoors) Activities
November 6, 2019     1 to 3 p.m.  Swimming at Falcon Center: Meet at 12:30 p.m.
December 4, 2019    10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Christmas Shopping at Meadowbrook Mall.
Meet at DAC at 9:30 p.m. Have shopping list and money for lunch and shopping with you.
Limit 10 participants

DAC Christmas Dinner 2019
Our Annual Christmas Dinner will be held on Saturday, December 7th, 2019
from 5-8 p.m. at the DAC.
Tickets will go on sale November 1st and can be purchased at the DAC
(You must pick up a ticket even if you are a client and your ticket is free).
Each client/member can bring two (2) additional family members or guests with them to the Dinner. The client’s meal will be provided and each guest shall pay $15 for their meal. Youth age 6-10 will cost $10 and children under 6 will be free.
You must have PAID your yearly MEMBERSHIP, You must have a ticket to attend the dinner, and you must RSVP by the required date.
The Dinner will be catered and there will be plenty of surprises for all of our members.

A partnership of the DAC and Homestead Farm Center
The DAC and HFC are pleased continue the very successful Enrichment Programs including:

• Abilibots (adult robotics class) on Tuesdays 10 to 11:30 a.m. (Class is currently full and a wait list is started.)
  Assistive Technology/Computer Lab on Wednesday mornings from 10-12 noon
• Full STEM Ahead after school high school program. Wednesday from 3-4:00 p.m.
• Try This Thursday (TTT) on Thursday from 10-11:30 a.m.
  November TTT: Novel Writing-Cynthia Garcia
  December TTT: Electricity and Magnetism
• SPECIAL NOTE: Handbell Choir will begin to meet again on Thursdays at 11:30 a.m. following Try This classes in November. The Handbell Choir will have several performances coming up during the Holiday 2019 Season.
