The DAC’s very popular GO! (Get Outdoors) Program continues as our way to increase the recreational, social, and fitness opportunities available to individuals with disabilities in Marion County.

NOTE: YOU MUST REGISTER IN ADVANCE FOR ALL GO ACTIVITIES. SPACE AND TRAVEL IS LIMITED. ADDITIONAL PARTICIPANTS MUST PROVIDE THEIR OWN TRANSPORTATION. PLEASE CALL AND RESERVE YOUR SPOT!

Stress Management

Thanks to funding from Hope Gas, the DAC is proud to be offering a customized Workplace and Community Wellness Program with Jennifer Kelly of ZenJen. This program will provide training, support, and resources for our staff, volunteers, and families to better handle stress, set boundaries, unlock the keys to overall wellness & live a more balanced life.
Monthly sessions with ZenJen will alternate for staff and parents/caregivers accordingly, providing the personalized training opportunities to better meet the needs of both groups.

May 16, 2025: Staff Training: Setting Health Boundaries
June 17, 2025: Parent/Caregiver Training: Setting Health Boundaries

CEO Workshop (Career Exploration Opportunities)
April 21-24, 2025   10 a.m. to 4 p.m.


Open to Division of Rehabilitation Clients (both in-school and out-of-school), ages 14-21 who are in need of life skills, career readiness, job and higher education exploration and more. See Cheyann for more details.

April 25th, 2025 5-7 p.m.

Back by very popular demand is the DAC Talent Show…a chance to show off the amazing abilities of our members, friends, and staff! Sign-ups are open now and DAC staff are available to help you prepare for the big show!

The DAC and HFC are pleased to continue the very successful Full STEM Ahead and Creative Arts classes that include:

  • Make it Mondays: March: Portrait Patchwork  April: Print Making
  • Tuesday STEAM: March: Earth Science   April: Math Fun
  • Try This Thursday (TTT): March: Inspirational Instruments  April: Best Life

All Morning Enrichment program will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. and will be held in 1-month blocks. Please plan to attend the entire monthly session from the start. Check the calendar for full details and descriptions of classes.

DAC SUB SALE
April 10 and 11, 2025
8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

It’s time again for our Semi-Annual Sub Sale!
Order forms will be available on our website and at the DAC front desk.
Our goal is to surpass the 2,000 Sub Mark and and keep up our record setting sales!
Volunteers are also needed on April 10th and 11th to prepare for the sale, make the subs, deliver the subs, and help out in any way possible.
Most of all we need to SELL THOSE SUBS!

DAC Basket Bingo

May 4, 2025     12 noon to 4 p.m.
Knights of Columbus

Tickets for our Annual Basket Bingo will be available in March. Liz is working hard already on preparing some amazing baskets and prizes for this fundraiser. Donations and volunteers are always appreciated.

HFC RURAL Program

RURAL has expanded to a 6-month education and training program at the Homestead Farm Center. Applications for new farm trainees will be available March 1, 2025 and must be returned by April 30, 2025. The program will begin on Fridays in April 2025 for returning farm trainees. NEW trainees will start with the summer program in June.

DAC/Mallamo Golf Tournament
June 6, 2025    9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Volunteers, Golf Tournament Sponsors, and of course golfers are needed to participate in this year’s tournament. This tournament is one of our largest fundraisers and the longest standing Golf Tournament in Marion County. If you are interested in being a part of the tournament, please contact Julie at the Center at (304) 366-3213.

Camp CAN-DO: DAC Lights, Camera, Action
July 21-25, 2025    9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Camp details and registration will be released in June.
