Sub Sale…..November 21st and 22nd

Please visit our website or stop in for your Sub Sale order form. You can start taking sub orders at any time and they will be made fresh for delivery or pick up on November 21st or November 22nd.

Volunteers are also needed on November 21st and 22nd to prepare for the sale, make the subs, deliver the subs, and help out in any way!
Most of all we need to SELL THOSE SUBS!

Christmas Decorating and Hanging of the Greens
November 26th, 2024     1-3 p.m.

Our Annual Christmas Decorating and Hanging of the Greens will take place Tuesday, November 26th (during regularly scheduled Community Service) at the Center. Clients and families are welcome to come and enjoy food and fellowship while giving back and decorating. This is YOUR center and we want you to be a part of making it shine during the Holidays and all year through!  Refreshments will be provided.

School Closing Schedule

Winter is fast approaching and we are sure to get some wild wonderful WV weather! We will be following the Marion County School Closing Schedule. If school is cancelled then our classes/programs will be as well. If there is a 2 hour delay, we will have classes/programs as scheduled. If there is an early dismissal, our classes/programs will be cancelled.

Christmas Shopping at Middletown Commons Meet at DAC at 9:30 a.m.
Have shopping list and money for lunch and shopping with you.

Limit 8 participants due to safe transportation practices. Additional participants must provide their own transportation. Please call and reserve your spot!

DAC Christmas Dinner and Program
at LIFE United Methodist Church
3000 Technology Dr. Fairmont
Saturday, December 7, 2024 5-8 p.m.

Our Annual Christmas Dinner will be held on Saturday, December 7th from 5-8 p.m. at the Life United Methodist Church.
Tickets will go on sale November 1st and can be purchased at the DAC. Client tickets are FREE.
(You must pick up a ticket even if you are a client and your ticket is free).

Each client/member can bring two (2) additional family members or guests with them to the Dinner. The client’s meal will be provided and each guest shall pay $20 for their meal. Youth age 6-10 will cost $10 and children under 6 will be free.

You must have PAID your yearly MEMBERSHIP, You must have a ticket to attend the dinner, and you must RSVP by the required date.
The Dinner will be catered and there will be plenty of surprises for all of our members.

Full STEM Ahead and Creative Arts
A partnership of the DAC and Homestead Farm Center

The DAC and HFC are pleased continue the very successful Full STEM Ahead and Creative Arts classes that include:

  • NEW: Make it Mondays: November and December: Weaving
  • Tuesday STEM: November: Aerospace Science
                                 December: Science of Food
  • Try This Thursday (TTT): November: Choir                                                                                              
    December: So You Think You Can Dance-DAC

All Morning Enrichment program will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. and will be held in 1-month blocks. Please plan to attend the entire monthly session from the start.

Membership and Policy Updates:

Please be sure to update your Level of Support Policy with the DAC as there are changes in your support needs or recommendations. You should update your plan due to age or beginning to receive Title 19 IDD Waiver services…either through wait list approval or coming off of the waitlist and receiving your waiver approval.

New Membership applications will be available in December for the new program year beginning January 2025. Please update any policy forms or membership at that time.

#Higherground Building Fund and DAC Expansion

#Higherground Expansion continues at DAC with major focus on the DAC-Wilfong Wellness Center as grant writing and fundraising continues for this amazing project.  To date, we have raised over One million dollars including $500,000 from U.S Senator’s Manchin and Capito, $160,000 from the Marion County Commission, and over $450,000 from private donors, grants, foundations, and corporate giving.
