DAC Trunk or Treat
October 25, 2024 5-6 p.m.
Back by popular demand is the DAC Trunk or Treat on October 25th. We are really excited to hold our 3rd Annual Trunk or Treat for our families and the community. Parking and entrance will be available at the front of the building and at the radio station. Decorated trunks and activities will be on the back/lower level of the parking lot and this area will be blocked off for walking through.
Please let us know if you will be attending and/or decorating a trunk and giving out treats!
Empower Hour
FSU Basketball Camp
October 2, 2024 1-2 p.m.
Join us for the 3rd Annual Empower Hour Basketball Camp with the Fairmont State Men’s Basketball Team. The camp will include skill building, a scrimmage game, and meeting the team and coaches.
All are invited but please be sure to RSVP to the DAC if you plan to attend.
Transportation is available for those in need.

Full STEM Ahead and Creative Arts
A partnership of the DAC and Homestead Farm Center
The DAC and HFC are pleased to continue the very successful Full STEM Ahead and Creative Arts classes that include:
- Make it Mondays: September and October: Painting with Acrylics
- Tuesday STEAM: September: Science Detectives October: Earth Science
- Try This Thursday (TTT): September: Public Speaking October: Music/Choir
All Morning Enrichment programs will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. and will be held in 1-month blocks. Please plan to attend the entire monthly session from the start. Check the calendar for full details and class description.
#Higherground Building Fund and
DAC Expansion
Grant writing and fundraising is underway for the DAC-Wilfong Wellness Center and the properties across the street and the sites have been cleared for the construction of the one of a kind, accessible gym and wellness space.
New Caregiver Support Group
Cheyann McQuain, DAC Program Director is pleased to offer a new caregiver support group on scheduled Mondays from 5:30-7:00 p.m.
This is a FREE service to allow parents/caregivers the opportunity to gain support and coping techniques. Respite will be provided for those in need of care for their child/adult child. Please call or email Cheyann at 304-366-3213 or cheyann@disabilityactioncenter.com to learn more.
